Course Objective
• Know previous acts of unlawful interference with civil aviation, terrorist acts and current threats (11.2.2) • Know elements contributing to the establishment of a robust and resilient security culture in the workplace and in the aviation domain • Know insider threat and radicalisation • Know the objectives and organisation of aviation security, including the obligations and responsibilities of flight and cabin crew members • Know how to protect and prevent unauthorised access to aircraft • Know procedures for sealing aircraft • Be able to identify prohibited articles • Know how prohibited articles may be concealed • Be able to implement aircraft security searches to a standard sufficient to reasonably ensure the detection of concealed prohibited articles • Know the configuration of the type or types of aircraft on which the duties are performed • Be able to protect flight deck during the flight • Know procedures relevant to carriage of potentially disruptive passengers on board an aircraft • Know handling persons authorised to carry firearms on board • Know reporting procedures • Be able to respond appropriately to security related incidents and emergencies on board an aircraft
Minimum Duration
210 min
Final Assessment
All trainees need to pass a final exam in order to complete the security course.The minimum pass grade is 60%. If a trainee fails for the first time, he/she will be given a second attempt at the exam. If a trainee fails twice, he/she will have to retake the entire course.
Certification
Once the trainee has passed the final exam, he/she will be provided with a e-Certificate that can be printed. The certificate is then valid for 60 months.
