Overpack Label
Share
Overpack labels are used to identify packages where multiple dangerous goods shipments are combined into a single outer packaging for ease of handling, protection or consolidation. The Overpack marking ensures that carriers, warehouse operators and emergency responders understand that the outer packaging contains one or more fully compliant dangerous goods packages inside, even if the inner labels are not visible.
Overpacks are commonly used in logistics operations involving mixed consignments, e‑commerce fulfilment, chemical distribution, pharmaceutical transport, battery shipments, and any situation where multiple packages are secured together using boxes, pallets, stretch‑wrap or protective outer containers. The Overpack label ensures that the integrity of the inner dangerous goods markings is maintained throughout the transport chain.
The Overpack marking is mandatory under ADR, IMDG, IATA/DGR, RID and ADN whenever the inner dangerous goods labels or marks are obscured by the outer packaging. This ensures full compliance across road, sea, air, rail and inland waterway transport, supporting safe and efficient multimodal operations.
Overpack labels feature the standardised black‑bordered rectangular design with the word “OVERPACK”, ensuring immediate recognition and consistent application across all transport modes. They are essential for freight forwarders, logistics operators, manufacturers, chemical suppliers and any business consolidating dangerous goods shipments.
We offer Overpack labels in polypropylene (100×100 mm), available with text, without text or customised on‑demand printing. Packs of 10, 50 and 100 units are available, as well as rolls of 250, 500 and 1000 to support all dangerous goods operations.
