Class 9: Various hazardous substances

Class 9 hazard labels are used to identify miscellaneous dangerous substances and articles that do not fall under other hazard classes but still present significant transport risks. These materials may pose environmental hazards, contain lithium batteries, generate heat, or present other specialised risks requiring clear identification. Typical examples include lithium‑ion and lithium‑metal batteries, environmentally hazardous substances, dry ice, life‑saving appliances, magnetised materials and various regulated consumer goods.

Class 9 covers a wide range of products, making correct labelling essential for safe handling, storage and international transport. The Class 9 label features the distinctive black‑and‑white striped upper half, a white lower half with the number “9”, and the diamond shape defined by global transport regulations. This design ensures immediate recognition by carriers, warehouse operators and emergency responders.

These labels are mandatory for the compliant transport of miscellaneous dangerous goods under IATA/DGR, ADR, IMDG, ADN and RID regulations, ensuring consistent identification across air, road, sea, rail and inland waterways.

Class 9 labels are essential for electronics manufacturers, battery distributors, logistics operators, e‑commerce fulfilment centres, chemical suppliers and any business handling or shipping miscellaneous dangerous goods, especially lithium batteries.

We offer Class 9 labels in polypropylene (100×100 mm and 100×135 mm) and vinyl placards (250×250 mm and 300×300 mm), available with text, without text or customised on‑demand printing. Packs of 10, 50 and 100 units are available, as well as rolls of 250, 500 and 1000 to support all dangerous goods operations.
