Lithium battery mark — blank UN field, durable, self-adhesive, BS5609 approved

This is the lithium battery mark supplied without a pre-printed UN number, so you can add the UN number that applies to your batteries (for example UN 3090, UN 3091, UN 3480 or UN 3481). It is applied to packages and overpacks so lithium batteries are clearly identified in transport by air, road, sea, inland waterway and rail, showing the battery symbol with a blank field for the UN number.

The mark is printed on durable polypropylene (100 × 100 mm) with a permanent self-adhesive backing and is BS5609 approved — the standard for marine-durable labels — so the print and adhesive withstand seawater, abrasion and weathering during long IMDG sea journeys.

When do you need it?

The lithium battery mark is required for lithium batteries shipped under the Section II provisions of the current regulations. Choose this blank version when you add the UN number yourself, or when you handle several UN numbers from one label stock. It meets the specifications of the IATA DGR (air), ADR (road), IMDG (sea), ADN (inland waterways) and RID (rail). Fully regulated shipments also require the Class 9 lithium battery hazard label.
